Short answer: Spectrum Nodes' Foundation features let a blockchain foundation or large organization share its dedicated RPC nodes with internal teams and outside developers. Admins generate a join code, set per user requests per second (RPS) limits, see request volume per user and approve access requests in one dashboard. Nodes can also be listed publicly as "Sponsored by [Organization]" so developers find them.

Why Do Foundations Need to Manage RPC Access?

Because access management grows with the ecosystem. Foundations give builders RPC nodes, caching and indexing to speed up onboarding, and managing that access one developer at a time creates heavy overhead.

How Do Developers Join a Foundation's RPC Nodes?

With a join code. An organization generates a code and shares it publicly or privately, so nobody manages individual invitations. Developers redeem the code to join the organization and use its dedicated RPC infrastructure.

Admins set default permissions and usage limits. Caps are optional: a code can run with no user cap and no expiry, or carry an expiry date and a fixed number of users.

What Access and Usage Controls Do Admins Get?

  • Per user RPS limits to manage resource consumption
  • User level metrics for request volume
  • Admin controls for users, permissions and infrastructure

What Are Sponsored RPC Nodes?

Sponsored RPC nodes are nodes an organization lists publicly as "Sponsored by [Organization]". Developers discover them and request access directly. Admins review requests in the organization dashboard, and approved developers join the organization automatically.

Your RPC infrastructure becomes both a shared resource and a developer onboarding channel.

Does It Cover More Than Nodes?

The first release covers nodes. The same organization model can support APIs, workflows and microservices, provisioned centrally and exposed to members. Dedicated APIs can be requested through a ticket, with webhooks supported where appropriate. Ready made APIs already live in Spectrum Marketplace.

How Does the Setup Flow Work?

As an Organization

  1. Spectrum admins create the organization for a specific user.

  1. Generate an organization code. An admin can generate an unlimited number of codes, each with an optional expiry date and user limit.

  1. Share the code with foundation colleagues and ecosystem partners. Spectrum users who redeem it get access to the dedicated node within the limits the organization's root user sets.

  1. Manage the organization. The dashboard lists users, key metrics and access requests to approve one by one.

What Does This Change for a Foundation?

Admin work stops growing with headcount. Provisioning, usage limits, metrics and approvals live in one dashboard, so supporting five internal engineers takes about as much admin work as supporting five thousand external builders. Sponsored nodes turn infrastructure you already run into a channel for finding the developers building on your chain.

FAQ

How can a blockchain foundation give developers RPC access? Share a join code. Developers redeem it to join the foundation's organization on Spectrum Nodes and use its dedicated RPC nodes, within per user limits the admins set.

What are sponsored RPC nodes? Nodes a foundation lists publicly as "Sponsored by [Organization]". Developers request access, admins approve in the dashboard, and approved developers join automatically.

Can I set RPC rate limits per developer? Yes. Admins set per user RPS limits and see request volume per user.

How do I set up a Foundation organization? Spectrum admins create the organization for you. Book a call with our team to start.
